Game 125 Recap: Brewers Surge Past Mets Late, 11-9

When it rains, it pours for the Mets. Despite being up 9-7 going into the 9th inning, the Brewers didn’t quite give-up. The Brew Crew scored 4 runs off Jason Isringhausen and Manny Acosta, handing former Mets reliever Francisco Rodriguez the win.

Unlike the game before, the Mets offense was not stagnant against Randy Wolf, Takashi Saito, and Francisco Rodriguez. Justin Turner, Ruben Tejada, Lucas Duda, and Josh Thole all collected doubles, with Tejada punching two. In addition, Angel Pagan smacked his 7th homerun of the season off K-Rod. Pagan also stole his 26th stolen base.

It certainly didn’t help that starter Chris Capuano surrendered 5 hits, 7 runs (5 earned), and 3 runs in just 5.6 innings, but Jason Isringhausen failing to shut-down anyone exposes the Mets very thin bullpen.

The Mets are now 60-65.
