Game 120 Recap: D’backs Sink Mets Late, 5-3

Chris Capuano had a very Chris Capuano outing (a lot of hits, a few too many runs, not many walks, and a solid amount of strikeouts). The lefty pitched 6 innings, giving-up 9 hits, 4 earned-runs, 0 walks, and 6 strikeouts.
While Capuano didn’t pitch well enough to keep the Mets in control, the offense died after the 5th inning. David Wright, Justin Turner, and Angel Pagan all collected doubles, and Lucas Duda smacked his 4th homerun of the season. Duda has been a completely different player since being recalled on June 10. Regardless, the combined 3 runs of support was simply insufficient.
The Diamondbacks might have won the game, but they also lost recently-acquired starter Jason Marquis. Marquis was hit by a hard comebacker by Angel Pagan, and an X-Ray confirmed the pitcher fractured his right fibula.
The Mets have lost their past 5 games, and are now sitting on a 58-62 record.
