STARTING PITCHERS:
R. A. Dickey (4-7, 3.68 ERA, 1.33 WHIP, 2.11 K/BB): Dickey will be watched closely by management for this start since he pulled a butt muscle in his last outing. Giggles aside, Dickey has arguably been the Mets best pitcher for the past month-plus. Since May 31, the Dickster has posted a 2.64 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, 2.78 K/BB, and a .207/.272/.318 line against. May the knuckle be with you. (Career vs. Giants: .240/.269/.320 line with a 4.85 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, and 2.00 K/BB)

Ryan Vogelsong (6-1, 2.13 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, 2.52 K/BB): Vogelsong has been doing his best R.A. Dickey impression. That is, shrinking into the oblivion, only to randomly re-appear and dominate. Unlike Dickey, Vogelsong appears to be more of a fluke. Despite posting a respectable 2.9 BB/9 and 7.3 K/9, the righty has also posted an unsustainable 7.5 H/9 and a .256 BABIP. At age 33–and no knuckleball–it appears as though Vogelsong’s good story might come to a close in the near future. (Career vs. Mets: .208/.321/.396 line with a 4.15 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and 1.14 K/BB)
