STARTING PITCHERS:
Dillon Gee (8-2, 3.47 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, 1.76 K/BB): Despite the eight wins and good overall stats, Gee has been less-than-mediocre over his past three starts. Gee has posted a 5.82 ERA, 1.70 WHIP, 0.81 K/BB, and a .273/.367/.455 line against in 17 innings spanning three outings. Needless to say, his supposed command has not been present. It is only expected to regress after starting the season 7-0, but fans might have to prepare for some turbulence ahead. (Career vs. Dodgers: .333/.462/.524 line with a 3.38 ERA, 1.87 WHIP, 1.00 K/BB)

Clayton Kershaw (8-4, 3.23 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, 4.18 K/BB): What does good control plus great strikeout ability equal? Answer: Clayton Kershaw. Kershaw is currently sporting 2.4 BB/9 and league-leading 10.1 K/9. The lefty’s 3.23 ERA has “spiked” from his 2.91 ERA in 2010, but one has to like his improved control (from 3.6 BB/9 to 2.4 BB/9). It will be particularly bad news if you’re a left-handed hitter (.187/.267/.264 line against). (Career vs. Mets: .239/.313/.307 line with a 1.85 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, 2.00 K/BB)
