R.A. Dickey (3-7, 3.76 ERA, 1.32 WHIP, 2.17 WHIP): In the five starts since Dickey hurt his foot, he’s hurled two of his best games as a Met. Overall, the knuckleballer has posted a 2.52 ERA, 0.95 WHIP, 3.33 K/BB. In addition, opposing batters are just hitting a .191/.254/.282 line against. Considering Dickey posted a 4.50 ERA, 1.55 WHIP, 1.66 K/BB, and a .303/.364/.454 line against before his injury, fans couldn’t be more pleased that the veteran hurt his foot. (Career vs. Tigers: .288/.339/.475 line with a 4.02 ERA, 1.41 WHIP, and 1.88 K/BB)

Rick Porcello (6-5, 4.50 ERA, 1.42 WHIP, 1.80 K/BB): It’s sometimes easy to forget that despite it being Porcello’s third seasons in the bigs, the pitcher is still just 22 years-old. Porcello has yet to duplicate his 3.96 ERA/1.33 WHIP from 2009, but those numbers were a little unsustainable (.267/.323/.416 line against).   The former first round pick has become a solid control pitcher and decent option for the Tigers, but his career 4.7 K/9 suggests he’ll never be an ace. (Career vs. Mets: no record)
