By Unknown author

It was the Mets second wide-margin win of the series. Chris Capuano pitched a seven inning shutout (just three hits and two walks), and the bats came alive too (Scott Hairston and Jose Reyes went deep). The Mets are now one game within striking distance of the .500 clip.

  • Chris Capuano pitched his best game in orange and blue. Cappy hurled seven innings, giving-up three hits, zero runs, two walks, while striking-out five batters. He is now 5-6 on the year.
  • Jason Isringhausen and Bobby Parnell combined for two scoreless innings out of the bullpen.
  • Jose Reyes hasn’t slowed down his own hit parade. The shortstop went 3-5 with a solo shot, RBI, and two runs-scored.
  • Justin Turner knocked-in his twenty-seventh RBI with a double.
  • Carlos Beltran collected two “rib-eye steaks” with a single.
  • Jason Bay poked a single for a RBI. It was just his eleventh RBI of 2011.
  • Scott Hairston hit a pinch-hit homerun in the ninth inning.
