Chris Capuano (4-6, 4.86 ERA, 1.44 WHIP, 2.84 K/BB): While Capuano didn’t fare well against the Pirates the last time, he did pitched extremely well against the Phillies and Brewers in between. Overall in May, Cappy has posted a 3.99 ERA, 1.32 WHIP, and 2.80 K/BB, however, hitters owned a .257/.323/.442 line against him during that period. If Capuano can limit the hits, he could be in-store for a very fine June. (Career vs. Pirates: .311/.375/.526 line with a 6.54 ERA, 1.63 WHIP, 2.15 K/BB)

Kevin Correia (8-4, 3.64 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, 1.95 K/BB): Most people poo-pooed the Pirates acquisition of Correia during the off-season, since his resurgence in 2009 was mostly due to the spacious Petco Park. Despite the doubters, Correia has been turning some heads in Pittsburgh. Eight wins aside, the righty has also posted more telling .262/.303/.401 line against, which suggests his 3.64 ERA and 1.24 WHIP are somewhat realistic. (Career vs. Mets: .260/.315/.380 line with a 2.95 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, 2.80 K/BB)
