Chris Capuano (3-4, 4.78 ERA, 1.56 WHIP, 2.27 K/BB): Capuano has only surrendered 2.2 earned-runs over his last five outings, yet opposing hitters are still posting a .285/.343/.431 line against him.  His league average 6.16 K/9 and 3.22 BB/9 suggest he’s getting pretty lucky all those base-runners aren’t touching home-plate. Let’s hope his luck continues versus the slug-heavy Yankees lineup. (Career vs. Yankees: .421/.500/.737 line with 11.25 ERA, 2.75 WHIP, 1.00 K/BB)

A.J. Burnett (4-3, 3.99 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, 2.21 K/BB): After posting a horrendous 5.26 ERA, 1.51 WHIP, and 1.86 K/BB in 2010, most Yankees fans completely wrote-off the right-hander who makes $16.5 million per season (through 2013). However, Burnett has been much more serviceable so far in 2011, posting a 3.99 ERA, .1.17 WHIP, and 2.21 K/BB. If the former Mets prospect continues to pitch this well, the death threats might cease. (Career vs. Mets: .196/.282/.303 line with 3.36 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, 2.61 K/BB)
