R.A. Dickey (1-5, 5.08 ERA, 1.59 WHIP, 1.56 K/BB): 2011 has been up-and-down for the knuckleballer. Just when you think Dickey has turned a corner, he loses his command. Both his hits/9 (from 8.5 to 11.2) and BB/9 (from 2.2 to 3.2) are up so far this season, which is essentially the difference between Dickey’s successful 2010 and his current, status quo. If Dickey can limit the hits and lower his walk total, he has a chance of repeating his 2010, but as of right now, most people don’t know what to do with the guy. (Career vs. Yankees: .278/.329/.443 line with 2.66 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, 3.00 K/BB)

Freddy Garcia (2-3, 3.22 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, 2.00 K/BB): Brian Cashman should really join the cast of American Pickers for his savvy Bartolo Colon and Freddy Garcia snags. Garcia pitched pretty well in 157 innings for the White Sox last season (4.64 ERA, 1.37 WHIP, 1.98 K/BB), but at age 34 (and having not pitched more than 200 innings since 2006), expecting anything above-average from Garcia in 2011 would have been a pipe-dream. Instead, Garcia has helped fans forget about Phil Hughes. While Garcia’s BB/9 is a little worrisome (3.7 BB/9), his 7.4 K/9 is better than his career average (6.5 K/9). (Career vs. Mets: .264/.316/.434 line with a 2.63 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, 4.33 K/BB)
