Dillon Gee (2-0, 4.44 ERA, 1.44 WHIP, 1.69 K/BB): Due to the injury of Chris Young, Dillon Gee will now be a fixture in the Mets rotation. Gee’s generally solid command was off in his last start (four walks), but he did strike-out a career-high six batters. The righty has shown glimpses of being a Major League pitcher in 2010 and this season, but he has a long (and his first full) season ahead of him. (Career vs. Nationals: .091/.200/.227 line with a 1.29 ERA, 0.71 WHIP, 1.33 K/BB)

Livan Hernandez (3-5, 3.92 ERA, 1.41 WHIP, 1.61 K/BB): Livan Hernandez is like the bad guy in horror movies–he just never dies. After posting a miraculous 3.66 ERA and 1.32 WHIP last season, Livan’s respectable 2011 so far is making his 2010 look like less and less of a mirage. The 36 year-old doesn’t strike-out batters anymore, nor does he have the best control, but then again, he still finds a way to play in the Majors despite not having posted a K/BB above 2.00 since 2004. (Career vs. Mets: .281/.339/.422 line with a 4.14 ERA, 1.42 WHIP, 1.87 K/BB)
