Chris Capuano (2-4, 4.93 ERA, 1.53 WHIP, 2.33 K/BB): Capuano has been serviceable so far in 2011, but he hasn’t quite looked like the pitcher he was towards the end of 2010. The theme of his season has been “men on base.” Even though he’s faired better overall in his past four starts (3.16 ERA, 1.44 WHIP, 1.87 K/BB), opposing hitters still have a .282/.333/.427 line against in that span. Cappy’s best bet is to reduce the hits and free passes. (Career vs. Astros: .232/.342/.393 line with a 3.32 ERA, 1.38 WHIP, 1.38 K/BB)

Aneury Rodriguez (0-1, 5.50 ERA, 1.33 WHIP, 2.17 K/BB): Rodriguez is one of the few Rule 5 picks from this season to actually stick with his new team, so obviously the Astros have a lot of faith in the 23 year-old. “A-Rod” has appeared in eleven games this season, including two starts. The pitcher has faired better as a starter, posting a 4.50 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, 3.00 K/BB with a .237/.275/.474 line against. The Astros will most certainly give Rodriguez a chance to prove himself (considering they have very few other options). (Career vs. Mets: .125/.222/.500 line with a 0.00 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, 3.00 K/BB)
