Dillon Gee (2-0, 3.80 ERA, 1.35 WHIP, 1.78 K/BB): Gee originally got the call when Chris Young was placed on the disabled list for the first time, however, when Young came back and re-injured himself (and is now out for the season), Gee was handed Young’s rotation spot full-time. While Gee has been subjegated to bullpen duties as of late, on the season, Gee owns a 2.65 ERA, 1.35 WHIP, and 2.00 K/BB as a starter (three games). I think we all expect his ERA to rise, but a 1.35 WHIP/2.00 K/BB is realistic. (Career vs. Astros: no record)

Bud Norris (2-2, 3.16 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, 3.71 K/BB): Norris has the upside to be one of the better strikeout pitchers in baseball, but his control (or lack there of), has held him back as a successful pitcher in general. So far in 2011, his control (3.0 BB/9) hasn’t been much of a thorn. Norris had posted an impressive 11.0 K/9, which only Brandon Morrow, Matt Garza, and Cliff Lee have bested (among starters). As long as Norris can curb the walks, the 26 year-old might propel himself into a premier category. (Career vs. Mets: .267/.329/.400 line with a 4.82 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, 2.50 K/BB)

Astros: TBD…
