Chris Young (1-0, 1.88 ERA, 0.95 WHIP, 2.00 K/BB): Young has been unhittable this season. The 32 year-old, oft-injured pitcher has just given-up 4.5 hits/9 IP this season, which is well below his already low career 7.3 hits/9 rate. The problem is that a 4.5 hits/9 IP rate literally impossible to sustain. Combine that with his bad control (4.1 BB/9 IP), Young might have a few bad outings up the road… (Career vs. Dodgers: .231/.325/.400 line with a 4.02 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, and 1.59 K/BB)

Jon Garland (1-2, 3.81 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, 2.57 K/BB): Garland enjoyed a successful season last season for the San Diego Padres, posting 14 Wins, 3.47 ERA, 1.31 WHIP, and 1.56 K/BB. The righty jetted from the Padres, and signed with their Western rivals, the Los Angeles Dodgers. So far in 2011, Garland seems to be on a better pace than 2010. His control has returned to his standard levels (2.4 BB/9 from 3.9 BB/9), but his improved K/9 IP (6.2 K/9 IP) from last season has stuck. Hey, maybe he’ll duplicate his short, dominating stint with the Dodgers from 2009 (2.72 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, 2.89 K/BB). (Career vs. Mets: .270/.333/.430 line with a 3.00 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, and 1.75 K/BB)
