Chris Capuano (2-2, 6.04 ERA, 1.57 WHIP, 3.17 K/BB): Capuano has been up-and-down this season for the Mets. Despite striking-out eight batters against the Nationals and only allowing one earned-run against the Astros, his seasonal stats speak to his overall performance. With Dillon Gee already on the Major League roster, Capuano is arguably one or two bad starts away from a demotion to the bullpen. (Career vs. Giants: .305/.350/.565 line with a 5.79 ERA, 1.50 WHIP, 2.11 K/BB)

Tim Lincecum (2-3, 2.90 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, 3.46 K/BB): It’s hard to believe Lincecum is only going into his fifth season in the Majors, as he’s already collected two Cy Youngs, and has led the league in strikeouts three times (three consecutive years from 2008 to 2010). He is the premier starting pitcher in baseball, so anticipate the Mets having difficulty scoring runs. (Career vs. Mets: .273/.329/.359 line with a 3.71 ERA, 1.35 WHIP, 3.00 K/BB)
