Chris Capuano (2-1, 5.95 ERA, 1.52 WHIP, 2.83 K/BB): Up until his sparkling outing against the Astros last week, the left-hander had posted an 8.53 ERA and 1.42 WHIP. His 2.83 K/BB ratio suggests he’s still challenging hitters, but he’s also been extremely hittable (11.0 H/9). As pointed out in my recent piece about Capuano, he might be a better fit for the bullpen (especially with the emergence of Dillon Gee). (Career vs. Nationals: .258/.316/.419 line with a 4.01 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, 4.00 K/BB)

Livan Hernandez (2-2, 3.48 ERA, 1.32 WHIP, 1.6 K/BB): Livan Hernandez is like the bad guy in horror movies–he just never dies. After posting a miraculous 3.66 ERA and 1.32 WHIP last season, Livan’s great start to 2011 is making his 2010 look like less and less of a mirage. The 36 year-old doesn’t strike-out batters anymore, nor does he have the best control, but then again, he still finds a way to play in the Majors despite not having posted a K/BB above 2.00 since 2004. (Career vs. Mets: .282/.341/.425 line with a 4.21 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, 1.83 K/BB)
