Everything that hasn’t clicked the past three games did last night against the Nationals. Chris Capuano, who looked very shaky in a relief appearance earlier in the season, shook off the cobwebs, and pitched 6 innings of 7-hit, 4 earned-run, 1 walk, and 8 strikeout baseball. It was his first win of the season and as a Met. Francisco Rodriguez also notched his first save with a 1.3 inning appearance. As nice as the Mets pitching was, it was really the Mets bats who starred.

Mets Highlights:

  • Carlos Beltran went 2-4, with 2 HR’s, 3 RBI, 3 R
  • Jose Reyes went 1-4 with a 2B, SB (third of the season), BB, 2 RBI, and 1 R
  • Ike Davis went 2-3 with a 3B, 2 RBI, 1 R
  • Daniel Murphy had a pinch-hit RBI single
  • Taylor Buchholz pitched a scoreless inning, lowering his ERA to 1.80
