Daniel Murphy was carted off the field last night in Buffalo due to an apparent knee injury. This was said about Murphy by Buffalo Bisons manager Ken Oberkfell.
"“I don’t think it’s real good, It was a roll slide, but it was one of those things where he kind of watched the throw rather than getting out of the way. It sucks. It’s tough, but it’s part of the game. He was pretty sore and he was mad too mad at himself… for not getting out of the way.”"
Even if Daniel Murphy was still playing without injury, the Mets #1 first basemen now is Ike Davis. It was a matter of time before he would be right up there. I always enjoyed seeing Daniel Murphy with the Mets, and he came through many times for them last season. But its time to move on to Ike. As you all know, WE LIKE IKE!
But, it appears that Daniel Murphy will make his second stint on the DL with a knee injury. Update to follow if news becomes available!
