The Mets are red hot, and are showing it.   John Maine, coming off of a short start, threw a great 6 inning performance to help the Mets secure their 7th straight victory 7-3.  The Mets had great help on offense.  Jason Bay had an RBI double, and Ike Davis with an RBI single.  John Maine pitched exceptionally. After injuring his non-throwing elbow in last weeks start, Maine threw 6 innings, got 9 K’s, and only gave up only 2 runs. Thats a solid performance in my book.

Here are my hot or not Mets players of the series against the Dodgers.

Hot: Jason Bay – Like i previously said, Jason Bay is feeling more and more comfortable at the plate. During Game 1 or the doubleheader, Bay hit his first homer as a Met.  He continues to show that.  Bay hit an RBI double to bring in Jose Reyes all the way from 1st.  It seems Bay is more comfortable hitting behind Reyes, and its actually helping!

Not: Rod Barajas – Barajas is one of the only Mets hitters right now that is struggling.  After getting off to a great offensive start, he is cooling down, as he did in the last series against the Braves.

Hot: Johan Santana –  Yes, Johan Santana is another one of my hot players.  His last two starts were great!  With both games combined, Santana went 2-0, with a 2.08 ERA, 1 ER, and 11 k’s.

Honorable Mention For Hot: Angel Pagan, David Wright, Jose Reyes, and Hisanori Takahashi

Now the Mets are headed to Philly to face the (you guessed it) Phillies.  Now, keep in mind, the Mets are NOW IN FIRST in the NL East!   We are in for a great series!
