The Mets are starting to get on a roll readers!!!! The Mets, with yet another great start by Mike Pelfrey defeated the Cubs by the score of 4-0. The Mets would break the game open in the bottom of the 8th inning with a homer by Fernando Tatis. In the 9th, K-Rod would shut the door on the Cubs, and help Mike Pelfrey secure the win. Overall, the Mets played another great and exciting game against the Cubs. Lets see if the Mets continue to stay hot!
Here are some of my hot and not players of the night.
Hot: Jose Reyes – Reyes had a 4 hit game, which included a two-run triple. It seems Jose Reyes is getting back to the old Reyes we come to know and love.
Not: Jason Bay – Jason Bay continues to struggle for the Mets. He went 0 for 2. Jason Bay has said he gets into a slump early in the season. But, he seriously needs to get help now because his offense is definitely vital to the Mets winning games!
Hot: Mike Pelfrey – Once again, Mike Pelfrey is continuing his resergence from his woes during Spring Training. Mike Pelfrey is now 3-0 with a 0.86 ERA. If he continues to pitch like he is now, who knows. He may be a consideration for a Cy Young Award.
Not: David Wright – It looks as though David Wright is also on a slump at the plate too. In the 7th, Wright has a chance to bring home Reyes at 2nd, but ultimately grounds into a double play. Wright does look uncomfortable at the plate. Gary, Keith, and Ron (The Mets Broadcast Duo for SNY), said during the SNY broadcast that David Wright is looking uncomfortable at the plate. Lets hope he can also bounce back!
