I am on my way out to Citi Field to cover game #2 of 162. It is a freakish 90 degrees outside right now….on April 7th. WTF? Feels like July around here. Let’s thank the heavens it is not because the likelyhood the Mets would be tied for first place is quite slim.
John Maine get his chance to begin to prove the naysayers wrong tonight as he opposes the Marlins and Ricky Nolasco. This will mark the start of the rest of the Mets season.
On a side note, Jose Reyes played in his last simulated game (hopefully) today in Florida and will begin his rehab stint tomorrow in St Lucie in a Single-A game. If all goes well, it is not out of the question Reyes will be in the lineup April 10th vs. Washington. Fingers crossed.
