I wanted to take a second to let all of our loyal readers know there will be a change coming here at Rising Apple later this afternoon. After a year of being at the helm, I’ve decided to step away from my duties as Senior Editor. This was not an easy decision by any means, but I’ve decided to go in a new direction with regard to my writing career, and felt it was only proper to let you know what’s going on.

Apr 8, 2013; Philadelphia, PA, USA; New York Mets third baseman David Wright (5) reacts to striking out during the first inning against the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park.
It’s been a really fun year following the New York Mets as closely as we do here at Rising Apple, but with the constraints of every day life, it has also become increasingly hard for myself to dedicate the amount of time and energy I want to continue growing this wonderful blog. When I first joined as Editor, my goal was to truly make this site a one-stop shop for all Mets news, rumors, game recaps, and unique opinion. Thankfully, it has done that in a short amount of time, and we have experienced exponential growth over the past 12 months.

For that, I want to share my most sincere thanks to each and every one of you that opens up our web page, reads or comments on an article, likes a Facebook status, and re-tweets something we say on Twitter. I’ve always been amazed at how many people want to see or hear what we think about the Mets, but each day I get more humbled by our loyal readership.

Another tremendous thanks goes out to my staff, who have been an integral part of Rising Apple’s success, as we continue to climb the Mets blogosphere toward the top of the totem pole. Their expertise, opinion, and passion for this blog and our Amazin’ Mets is second-to-none, and there’s no one else I’d rather go to battle with than the eight incredibly talented writers that also write for Rising Apple. I caught wind this morning with regard to who will be taking over as the site’s Editor, and I’m confident that this will continue to be a one-stop shop for quality Mets content moving forward.

If you’re going to miss me, don’t worry, because I’m not going far. I’ve received a great opportunity to write my Mets opinion as part of the Contributor Network on Yahoo! Sports. You can find my work here. I’ll have some more time to contribute to my personal Major League Baseball blog, On The Way Home, and I also have some creative opportunities that I intend on pursuing; I will divulge details on my personal blog when the time is right.

Once again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your support of the site. It’s tough to leave a great site and incredible network, but I’m excited for the opportunities that are waiting for me. This isn’t a goodbye, just a see you soon.

Let’s go Mets!

However, assistant GM John Ricco said quite the opposite to Adam Rubin.
