I have been involved with the game of baseball for over 30 years now as a player, coach, and consultant. I had the distinction of having eight professional tryouts as a player, and while I was never cut from a tryout, unfortunately I was never signed either. I love sharing my perspective on all sports, but especially baseball, where I can give readers a perspective from a player's point of view, as well as a fan's point of view. I owe being a Mets fan to my grandfather, who would take me to games in my youth via the "orange bus" from the Bronx to Queens. You can follow me on Twitter @FirstPitchMitch.
