The Mets took their third straight game from the Braves and fourth straight overall, winning by the score of 4-1 on Wednesday night at Citi Field.
David Wright led off the bottom of the seventh with a hustle double, and came around to score the go-ahead run on a Kirk Nieuwenhuis sacrifice fly. With two outs in the inning, Travis d’Arnaud smoked a two-run homer to left to increase New York’s lead to 4-1.
In the ninth, Jenrry Mejia allowed two runners to reach but held the Braves scoreless as the Mets closed out the victory.
- Dillon Gee was tremendous in his first start back from the disabled list, tossing seven innings of one-run ball. He allowed six hits, walked one and struck out four.
- Lucas Duda continued to hit, ripping an RBI single in the first inning.
- Kirk Nieuwenhuis hit a go-ahead sacrifice fly.
- Travis d’Arnaud hit a long two-run homer in the seventh.
