Ep. 66 - Rising Apple Report: Opening Series Recap And The Dilemma Ahead

The Opening Series of 2014 is in the books, and it wasn’t pretty.  The Washington Nationals completed a three game sweep of the Mets earlier this afternoon, while injuries have began taking an early toll on the Mets.

The week has additionally been highlighted with coinciding roster adjustments, a bullpen implosion, and a particularly ponderous controversy regarding Daniel Murphy‘s CBA negotiated right to take leave from the team to be with his wife upon the birth of their newborn child.

We’ll discuss these topics, and more.

Tonight’s Rising Apple Report will be hosted by, me, Michael Lecolant.  I’ll be joined by fellow Rising Apple staff writer, Sam Maxwell.  We plan to bring you an hour long show this evening.

Join us for engaging Mets conversation at 7:30pm EST.  Or, better yet, call into the show at 646-929-0337.

When we had our first born, took my wife to hospital, helped out in operating room, I was dressed in a suit because I was going to work, once doctor saw me, has me sign in as intern. After the birth, went into office baby born at 6am, my boss says what the hell are you doing here, don’t you have a room to fix up, so he gave me the day off!!! Had my Italian Mother and Mother In Law standing guard at the hospital watching over my baby boy!!!! Could not go near him if I wanted to, all my kids were born in Brooklyn!!!!!
