Rising Apple Report, Ep. 53: No Piazza Party

The Rising Apple Report reconvenes for its 53rd episode!

Dan Haefeli will be hosting this week, joined by me, as well as returning guest Gary Mack, host of his own podcast, Mets Musings, on which I was a guest last month.

The big news of the day, of course, is the Hall of Fame. We Mets fans are dismayed that former Mets catcher Mike Piazza was not elected, appearing on just 62.2% of the ballots. We’ll break down this year’s inductees, and project ahead to what continues to look like a stacked ballot for the next several years.

Last time Gary joined us, we discussed our hopes for the 2014 Mets roster and outfield in particular. Since then, it has shaped up with the signings of Chris Young and former Yankee Curtis Granderson to surround defensive ace Juan Lagares, and the rotation was bolstered by the signing of Bartolo Colon. We’ll break down what we’d like to see the lineup look like, and where we’d like to see any additional moves before spring training starts next month.

So, join us at 6:30PM ET for the latest edition of the Rising Apple Report!
