Daniel Murphy (strained intercostal) is scheduled to take batting practice, run the bases, and take grounders today in Port St. Lucie.

Per the beat writers, Jordany Valdespin (who was drilled in the groin by a Justin Verlander fastball on Monday) plans to start wearing a cup. Wise choice.

The Mets travel to Viera this afternoon to take on the Nationals at 1:05 PM. The game isn’t on local television or radio, but can be followed via MLB Gameday. Here’s the Mets’ lineup:
