7:41 PM: Sources point to the Dodgers being close to landing free agent pitcher Zack Grienke, as they’re shopping Aaron Harang and Chris Capuano. The Angels are still seen to be a major player, but if Grienke gets signed while execs are still in Nashville, the market for Dickey could heat up quickly.
5:00 PM: Adam Rubin reported that the Mets have had virtually no discussions regarding Jonathon Niese. Meanwhile, Alderson and Scott Hairston‘s agent have met, as the two sides start to explore a reunion.
4:43 PM: Ken Davidoff of the New York Post is reporting that the New York Mets are contemplating signing Mark Reynolds to play the outfield. Davidoff also notes that his $7 million asking price is too high for the Mets. Reynolds, who was non-tendered by the Orioles last week, has played only two games in the outfield throughout his career.
