Game 126 Recap: Brewers Complete Sweep, Mets Lose 6-2

The difference between a good team and the Mets appears to be the Brewers. Despite R.A. Dickey‘s best attempts (7 innings, 6 hits, 2 earned-runs, 0 walks, and 4 strikeouts), the Brew Crew took advantage of his exit, and preyed on the lowly Mets bullpen. A combination of Manny Acosta, Tim Byrdak, Jason Isringhausen, and Pedro Beato surrendered 4 runs (3 earned) in just 2 innings.

The Mets hitters matched the Brewers’ through 7 innings, but couldn’t quite churn out any production after the Brewers scored 4 more in the 8th and 9th innings. Lucas Duda led the charge, smacking his 6th homerun, and collecting 2 RBI in the process. Angel Pagan and Jason Bay chipped-in a double each–but that was it for the Mets.

Needless to say, the Mets bullpen ruined a perfectly competitive game. The team is now 60-66.
