Fans have to be pleased with how well both Lucas Duda and Josh Thole have been handling the bat. Duda went 3-4 with a solo shot, and Thole capped a perfect 3-3 night with a two-run shot in the 2nd inning. Thole collected a total of 3 RBI on the day.
R.A. Dickey‘s solid outing was ruined by Bobby Parnell, who let-up an earned-run and the lead to the Padres. Dickey hurled 6.3 respectable innings, giving-up 7 hits, 3 earned-runs, 1 walk, and 4 strikeouts. He did not figure into the decision, but Manny Acosta, who looked good after suffering a fingernail injury, snagged the “W.”
As great as it was to see the Mets pull-put the win, it was even more pleasant to witness Jason Isringhausen collect his 300th career save. He might have saved most of those games in another uniform, but it just seems right he notched his 300th in orange and blue.
