Game 119 Recap: Mets Fall to D'Backs Behind Poor Bullpen, 6-4

It’s very rare to hear fans say, “I wish Mike Pelfrey was still pitching this game.” But in all honesty, it would have been better. Pelf was removed from the game after getting hit with a liner–a move no one will disagree with. However, as soon as Pelfrey was removed, the game unfolded. The bullpen, led by D.J. Carrasco and Pedro Beato, surrendered 3 hits, 3 earned-runs, and a walk in 3 innings of work.

Despite owning a 4-2 lead going into the fifth inning, the Mets fell to the Diamondbacks 6-4. The Mets bats were relatively quiet with the exception of Ronny Paulino, Mike Baxter, and Ruben Tejada. They each had multi-hit games, and Baxter collected his first career triple.

The loss drops the Mets down to the 58-61 clip.
