SNY Drops the Ball

I am not one of those patriotic nuts that have an American flag on my car, but I have felt the pride and joy of being an American citizen the past few days.  On Sunday night, we witnessed at Citizens Bank Park and Ground Zero just how happy most Americans were about the death of Osama bin Laden.  That is why I was so disappointed when SNY did not show the singing of the Star Spangled Banner before last night’s game between the Mets and Giants.

Instead I had to watch the end of the pre-game show with Chris Carlin and Bobby O and a bunch of commercials.  SNY even showed the singing of God Bless America during the 7th inning stretch, so it did not make much sense.  I am not saying the Star Spangled Banner should be televised every night, but last night was the exception.   SNY should know the mood of the country and their viewers, and seeing the national anthem last night was something many people would like to have seen.
