Mets Acquire 2B Jose Lopez for Jenrry Mejia

Apparently the Mets are not satisfied with Brad Emaus as their starting second baseman. The New York Mets have acquired Colorado Rockies infielder Jose Lopez in exchange for top pitching prospect Jenrry Mejia. Mejia, who is arguably the best prospect in the Mets minor league system, was widely thought to be untouchable (prior to the trade, that is). The move is obviously a shocker, but Mets General Manager Sandy Alderson gave the below reasons why the trade was a “must.”
