Conflicting reports today about the Roy Halladay to the Mets trade offer and rejection. Si.com, MLB Network, and WFAN staffer Jon Heyman, who is usually at the top of the food chain in breaking baseball news, apparently was duped. Multiple other sources, including the Daily News and Newsday, are saying that no offer was ever made.
Mike Francesa (remember he knows everything folks) a few minutes ago in his opening monologue, said he checked with his Mets sources and they are denying the trade was ever offered to them. Omar Minaya offered no comment during a mid-game press conference when asked about the rumor.
For a few more interesting nuggets on happenings in Met Land, check out Adam Rubin’s latest blog entry here. Seems as Tony Bernazard becomes more unlikable by the day. I’ll have some comments on the supposed vote of confidence Minaya and Manuel reportedly received from Jeff Wilpon coming up in a bit.

I watched Minaya last night in the booth and it made me ill. Time to get rid of him and his coaching staff of chokers. Do it now before Wright and Reyes are tainted forever.
Speaking of “votes of confidence”, David Wright stated the other day he wants to play his whole career as a Met. Does that mean he wants to leave immediately. Sort to like the vote of confidence usually means they are fired very soon after. Just wondering because when the change comes this guy better stay a Met. Just hope his spirit isn’t broken by these pathetic times.
