Say, Here’s Something New! An Angered Mets Fan Ranting!

AUTHOR: Milo Taibi | IN: Mets | COMMENTS: None Yet

Heading into this post, let me just make it clear that I realize how stereotypical a piece of writing this is going to wind up being. It seems as though there are more rants on the internet about the God-awful Mets than there is eye make-up in Rihanna’s purse. However, after tonight’s game, a horrendous miscarriage of a 2 hour and 25 minute “sporting event,” an angry rant is really called for. So sit back and relax (or just leave now; the mood won’t improve much from here) as I type angry Mets-related things just as quickly as my pudgy [...]

Mets GM Minaya Displays Shrewd Decision Making Ability, Swaps O’Day For Figueroa And Fossum

AUTHOR: Milo Taibi | IN: Mets | COMMENTS: None Yet

Late in September last season, several disgusted Mets fans attended Shea Stadium bearing signs reading “FIRE OMAR!” and “Fiya Minaya!” in reference to the performance of New York Mets General Manager Omar Minaya. Those fans certainly ate their crow Sunday afternoon, when the Mets wunderkind GM designated 26 year old useful reliever Darren O’Day for assignment in favor of Nelson Figueroa and Casey Fossum. Figueroa received one spot start with O’Day’s roster spot and was promptly DFA’d himself; but Minaya wasn’t done yet! He now used this opportunity to call up incredibly talented lefty reliever Casey Fossum from Triple A [...]

What To Look For!
Our beloved New York Mets will be taking on San Diego Padres ace Jake Peavy tonight. Simply put, Jake Peavy is one of the defining pitchers of our generation. He’ll go deep into ballgames while striking out many and allowing free passes to few. This season, through 15 innings Peavy’s K/BB ratio is 18/2. The only thing the Mets have going for them is their previous ability to perform well against Peavy- oh wait. [...]

Yahoo Sports Refuses To Come To Terms With Bobby Parnell’s Existence

AUTHOR: Milo Taibi | IN: Mets | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

In an interesting development, the Yahoo Sports website refused to acknowledge Mets relief pitcher Bobby Parnell’s participation in Wednesday evening’s game vs. the San Diego Padres.

“Well, it’s just an incredibly helpless feeling,” Parnell told a reporter while tearfully packing his belongings to leave the ballpark. “I mean, I’ve worked so hard to make it to the Major Leagues, and I’m still anonymous to the readers of Yahoo Sports. How is it that Luke Gregerson gets a mention yet I don’t? I don’t think Luke Gregerson’s family knows who Luke Gregerson is.”*

Mets Notch First Victory At Citi Field!

AUTHOR: Milo Taibi | IN: Mets | COMMENTS: None Yet

Last night the New York Mets won their first ever game at Citi Field thanks in part to solid pitching from Oliver Perez, a terrific showing from the bullpen, and some downright fugly San Diego defense. The win improved the Mets overall season record to 4-4, and lowered San Diego’s to 6-3.
